Al Gore - Turning Off the TV ??

I don't know what it is like in England,
but here in the U.S.A. being against TV
is really considered puritanical, snobbish,
intolerant and generally pathetic.

So I just about fell off my chair when
reading this amazing article by Al Gore

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article ... 15,00.html

This is an excerpt from his new book
"The Assault on Reason". In this article
he describes the hugely negative effects
that TV has had on the foundations of
Democracy and reason itself.

I would urge everyone to read this important
article. Al Gore is my new hero, it took
a lot of courage for such a popular guy to
take such an unpopular stance.

I hope it has a *huge* effect !!

Ralph Nader Eh? That doesn't surprise me...
he seems much too interested in reality to
be interested in "reality TV".

It would be interesting to make up a list
of prominent people who either eschew TV
or watch very little.

Well, Madonna supposedly doesn't lt her kids watch it... She and RN probably have very little else in common.
