Re: Study: More Teens Killed Texting While Driving than by D

This does not surprise me at all. More and more I've been witnessing this as the years go by. The gadget tech obsession is not cool at all. When you go into town you see so many kids that are driving recklessly with a phone in their hand texting, and sadly I have been in the car many times without s...

Re: Massive Spying Program Exposed, Demand Answers Now

The sad thing is the masses aren't demanding answers. We've had all this of a scandal break out and the excuses are "the government would never do this to us" or "it's only for the terrorists" you have a higher chance of being struck by lightning, getting hit by a drunk driving, and even having a he...

Re: Real Life

This is also the bread and butter of creating a society of narcissistic psychopaths. I lived with a psychopath and was raised by one, and most of the programs on TV today are a reflection of that. Specifically reality TV. On those shows, everything is about the specific person. The shows can be summ...

Re: How TV Pacifies Us and Subverts Democracy

With propaganda, they have created fake wars for years with the use of TV. Seriously, 9/11 is the greatest proof of that. There are far more questions than answers regarding 9/11, but on the TV they forgot to tell you about the WTC 7 Tower, they forgot to tell you many many things, but they were jus...

Re: Real Life

Summer comes early down here in Alabama, and do you think my neighborhood full of over 10 family households with kids is loaded with a bunch of kids outside playing? LOL think again. I haven't seen kids EVER go outside and play but on rare occasions and I've lived here for 6 years. It is considered ...

Re: Microsoft Wants To Reward You For Watching TV

Wow this is depressing.

This is truly something out of 1984 now.

The XBox achievements are already insane. There are tons and tons of gamers that play those games just to rack them up since they are digital online trophies. I can actually picture them watching the ads to earn achievements.

Re: Maybe Media Is the Real Opiate of the People

Oh wow that is insane. Would never happen in America. It's as if they want the masses to be dumbed down and fully ignorant. Pot is illegal, yet Alcohol isn't, and most of the ads for alcohol targets young people. My family has always had alcoholics from generation to generation. Thankfully I never f...

Re: Video Games

Grand Theft Auto is the best example of a Sandbox game. You could spend years going through one of those games just to explore. Personally, I think you have to be bored out of your mind to do this. I think the video gamers need to give it a rest, instead of fighting make believe bosses and crime lor...

Re: Video Games

Nice posts, yes the XBox One reminded me of 1984 right off the bat. Do you even need all that crap to sit down and play a video game? A few years ago Starcraft II came out, and I found out you have to be connected to the internet 24/7 to play that game. This alerted me, because years ago I used to p...

Video Games

While I don't watch TV, I finally recognized I have a problem myself with video games. I've wasted countless hours playing them. Not having any cable, it's the only reason my TV is ever on. Can Video games be as addictive as television? I say 100% yes, but we are the ones that have to wake up and se...

Re: Real Life

Once you turn the fool tube off, you start living. What's the sense in watching someone else live, when you can live yourself? That's specifically how I feel about reality shows. I am a guitar player, and I think about it like this; guys like SRV, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton didn't get the talent th...

Re: How TV Pacifies Us and Subverts Democracy

The isolation created from TV is so true, and it also creates fear. I was raised in a TV fed household and that's how it was. "Don't go see them, they look like bad people!". When you turn the TV off and then watch it to analyze you will find so many stereotypical adverts of minorities that it's not...

Re: Jackie Chan quit action movies; movies are too violent

Well he's right on the money, but it has progressed over the years. The TV has already been used enough to desensitize the world from violent acts. Especially here in America, I feel they know that the people would rather see sex, drugs, and violence rather than anything that is the opposite of that.

Re: TV-B-Gone Response from People

lol Anytime I have ever suggested TV has a bad influence on people and family life, I have always received a hostile and rather vulgar response before the usual 'hes a nut case, he's not normal.'. Ever since TV first came around look at what it has done to family values. Cheating became the new norm...

Re: Obesity risk: TV May Have Greatest Effect

All I have to say is well DUH! I am shocked it took them this long to figure that out! When you spend hours on hours sitting down in front of a tube, it's not going to help you lose weight no matter what the diet commercials tell you about drinking diet cokes and eating their diet foods. You know th...
